Freedom Style UBG Guide: All 3 Modes Explained
The Kit, Verbatim
The in-game description says it plainly: “You are not bound by a single style, since inside the ring, you are absolutely free. Unique Ability: you can swap between 3 different modes (Whirlwind, Flicker, Smash) that each have advantages and disadvantages. However, you are very fragile. Ultimate: Last Sun.”
The Three Modes
| Mode | Stance behavior | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Whirlwind | Hands-low, slow vertical bob | Movement-heavy neutral, baiting |
| Flicker | Left arm flicking (Hitman-like), right above waist | Range control, chip pressure |
| Smash | Both arms committed | Punish windows, damage conversion |
The style is the switching: each mode covers another’s weakness, and the fragility tax means staying in the wrong mode gets you deleted.
Why “How to Use Freedom” Is a Genre
Because Freedom is UBG’s knowledge check. You’re effectively piloting three mini-styles against opponents who only need to learn one — the wiki documents each stance separately, and searches like “how to change styles using freedom” exist because even the swap mechanics reward lab time.
Is Freedom Good?
A-tier on our list — with the widest skill variance in the game. Great Freedoms scramble Surgeon’s counter-reads by changing the pattern mid-exchange; bad Freedoms are fragile confusion. If you main it, you stop being counter-picked — you are the counter-pick.
